This painting is quite interesting... The Annunciation, that pictures the scene of Gabriel announcing that Maria would be the mother of the son of God, is full of details and mysteries... It's not a news to anyone that Da Vinci was in fact, more tan a genius, sometimes being considered a mind from outer space.
1 - The first message that should be in the picture is about the ambient... The Virgin is sat in front of a place that seems to be a palace from the renaissance time and that is not a normal image once we know that this fact might have happened in early ancient times.
2 - The Virgin seems to be reading some kind of book or paper, and it seems to be on an "arclike" box and if you look at it well, you'll see some kind of cover and it's details among the heavy brush strokes is completely relevant because it shows that it's not a coincidence.
3 - It might be one of the most bizarre theories I've ever thought about... The trees on the beautiful landscape are different, is kinda strange that, in ancient times, trees from different species be seen together in the same space. So, we can suppose that he was picturing some other plan or it may be part of the message he wanted to input.
4 - The Virgin's dress to the right of the image seems to be a little bit lifted as if she wanted to hide something and it can be intriguing if you join both images in an inverted way at the same exact point, and a dark image in a hood can be seen like a third being on the picture.
5 - And the last fact. Verrocchio used lead-based paint and heavy brush strokes. He left a note for Leonardo to finish the background and the angel. Leonardo used light brush strokes and no lead. When the Annunciation was x-rayed, Verrocchio's work was evident while Leonardo's angel was invisible.
